Kalavryta is a picturesque town with many attractions such as Cave of the Lakes, the Holocaust Museum, Odontotos rack railway, Vouraikos Gorge as well as historic monasteries and beautiful mountain villages.
This Cave has something all its own, its 13 cascading cascading lakes make it unique in the world. The utilized length of the cave is 500 m, while its total length is 1,980 m.
The Monastery is situated 10km north-east of Kalavryta on the road that connects the Athens-Patras highway with Kalavryta, and it is built at the opening of a big natural cave (hence the name) right above Vouraikos Gorge at an altitude of 940m.
